Founded in 2012, The Schoolhouse Tutoring Corporation provides individualized one-on-one tutoring to students from Kindergarten to Grade Twelve in the Etobicoke and Bloor West areas of Toronto and Woodbridge area of Vaughan. Our tutors develop a personalized relationship with students and parents enabling them to bring a holistic view to tutoring in order to assist students in ways conventional schooling is frequently incapable of doing. All our tutors are university educated and are experienced in sharing their knowledge and expertise with students.
My name is Cristina Caruso and I am the director and founder of The Schoolhouse Tutoring Corporation. I began tutoring during my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto where I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in 2007. In the years following graduation I have expanded my tutoring practice and in June 2012 I completed my Masters of Education in Educational Policy and Administration at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE).
Having studied the theoretical aspects of education and educational policy, as well as having spent many hours tutoring and volunteering in classrooms, I bring a practical approach with theoretical underpinnings to my tutoring practice. I believe that we in Ontario are fortunate to have access to one of the best public school systems in the world. I also believe that many students benefit from the individualized learning that occurs through private tutoring, which offers the flexibility to adapt to each student’s needs, that is difficult to achieve through regular schooling.
The Schoolhouse Tutoring aims to provide each student with the support which they will most benefit from both academically and personally. We welcome all students and will work with parents and students to help them reach their goals.
